Nepal lies between India and China, covering the Terai lowland plains and Mount Everest in the Himalayas.

Decade long conflict has caused an increase in rural to urban migration.  Rural areas are often remote from water supplies and a lack of sanitation in living environments is causing the spread of diseases.

Only 31% of Nepal has sanitation coverage, leading to widespread open defecation.

Approximately a third of all deaths in Nepal are of children under five and half of these are due to diarrhoea.

Water supplies are often polluted and in some areas naturally occurring arsenic causes a contanimation.

KEEP - Kathmandu Environmental Education Project

The BridgIT Water Foundation working in partnership with KEEP on the water project in Nepal.
Established in 1992, Iathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP) is a non-governmental organization, registered with the government of Nepal, working to sustainable tourism in Nepal.  One of the major work is the community development; it is taken as a "helping tourism work for Nepal", where "Small Help is Great Help" theme for Nepal.

KEEP has been receiving many 'letters of interest' from many deprived government schools in Nepal, for this educational community development program, so that children from the very deprived families by able to encourage going to good foundational schools.  KEEP has still yet to cover all parts of Nepal.

The proposed project/s will be working in partnership with KEEP to build water harvesting and water storage systems in schools already constructed in rural Nepal.
